A special garden has
been seeded in La Asociación Nuestros Ahijados. May 2001 marked the
beginning of the center’s first activity-centered preschool
program “The English Garden”. Set in the beautiful, natural
surroundings of “The Dreamer Center”, the new school promises to
provide a rich and nourishing environment for its seedlings. |
| The educational program addresses the developmental needs of the whole
child... .spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally,
cognitively and creatively. We recognize that each child must
participate at Ms/her own developmental level and therefore provide
a number of open-ended activities that meet the individual needs of
each child. Particular emphasis is placed on instilling a sense of
personal worth and establishing caring and meaningful relationships
with others.

Through play, children learn many fundamental life skills including: respect for others, the necessity of sharing and cooperation and the ability to work together. Several of the activities promote critical thinking and problem solving skills. The English immersion component has been introduced to allow for further opportunities for growth and personal development. |
| The “English Garden” hopes to provide the setting for children to grow
in Beauty and Love, so that one day, when they are transplanted to
the Garden of Life, they may become all that they are meant to be.
