Sponsorship Information

This page is meant to provide additional information to Godparents of our children.

1. Request to sponsor a child.

The information we need to activate a sponsorship of a child, is the following:

The daily cost of a child in the program is approximately $1.50
Please, also provide your email address.

2. Corresponding with your child.

Please, keep these guidelines in mind:

1. Always put the full name of the child on the envelop (if possible);

2. Also, put your full name and full address on the envelope;
3. Use the unique correspondence number on the envelope.
    if you don't know that number, then drop me a note at: sponsors@conexion.com.gt
4. If you write to someone other than the child you are sponsoring, make a clear note on the envelope.

4. Don't send dollars in the envelope.

In order for us to manage the flow of money to the children, either for his / her birthday or just-because, please follow these guidelines:

- Make a check payable to the God's Child Project;
- put the child's name on it and
- the purpose of this check ("birthday present" or "extra gift").

In Bismarck, the check is deposited. Mandy makes a note for Johan who then obtains the money in local currency.
The gift is presented to your child. A photo is taken and then sent to you.

6. Christmas gifts.

How can you send a gift to your Godchild during Christmastime?

Around the beginning of November, you can send your card to the Bismarck Office
We will translate your card, and at the Christmas party, the card will be handed over to your Child.

If you would like your Godchild to receive a present from you along with your card, send us a separate check with a note saying that this money is to be used for your child's Christmas gift. We will use $20 to buy a gift. If you send more, then the extra will be used to buy gifts for children whose sponsors were not able to send anything, and for those children who don't have a sponsor at all.

There will be a Christmas party and the gifts will be handed out to the children. We will take a picture which we will send to you later.

The limit of the gift will be $20. This is to avoid that some children might receive a bike while others will have a T-shirt. If you want to send a bigger gift, please wait until the Christmas season has passed.

Please, don't send any actual gifts to our Bismarck office since we have no way of forwarding packages to Guatemala in time to be given out at Christmas.
Just send you card and, if you'd like, your dedicated check marked "Christmas present for xyz". We will buy the gifts locally in Guatemala.
If you can include anything extra for the children without a sponsor, please do.

7. Address changes.

Your child wants to maintain contact with you. Therefore, please provide the Bismarck office your current address, so we can send your child's letters directly to you.
