Springtime 2001:
Cleaning and preparing new property next to the Dreamer
Center. |
|
Salon Walsh is a large meeting room in the Dreamer
Center which provides space for in-house groups, as well as
community and governmental groups. |
|
The new school building (dedicated 2/25/2000) houses
seven classrooms and the Mittelsteadt Library. The library
provides students the access to both books and computers
(luxuries for most Guatemalans). |
|
Another view of the school building. |
|
The Dreamer Center (as viewed from the school
building) houses the Atkinson Family Clinic, Salon Walsh, and
the program's administrative offices. The mural on the
wall depicts the history of Guatemala. |

The fountain beside the Dreamer Center. |
|
This photo is a typical house of a poor family in
Guatemala. One of the students enrolled in the program
lives here. |
|
Another typical house. |

The children and staff of The GOD'S CHILD
Project help Patrick celebrate his birthday 2/27/2000. |

Staff and children enjoy the gardens at Belen in
Antigua. |

An indigenous girl in Xojola accepts her scholarship
for the year 2000. |
|
The group of scholarship recipients from Xojola.
Since Xojola is a agricultural area, if these students were not
supported by the GOD'S CHILD Project they would go to work in
the fields (to supplement their family's income) and never
complete their education. |
|
Handing out school supplies in Chiquimulilla,
Guatemala. This school, although not a program of GPC,
receives financial and in-kind support from the GOD'S CHILD
Project. |
|
This is Fuego, one of the active volcanoes in
Guatemala. Numerous volcanoes and lush vegetation provide
postcard scenery for the visitor to Guatemala. |
|
A photo of a part of the office. |
|
These photo's show the reception in the clinic. |

|
Social worker and long-term volunteer Erick on a
trip in Cuidad Vieja (old city).
When a serviceteam comes over, they usually bring goods from
sponsors for families. In this case, Erick is handing out bags
with useful items, such as toothpaste. |
|
The Dreamer Center is completely decorated with
green. The photo shows a part of a garden and the schoolbuilding. |

Another "Green" photo. |
